The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Woods and Trees meets several times a year to discuss steps to protect, restore and expand woods and trees with likeminded MPs and Lords. This helps keep MPs informed on how new policies could impact woodlands and trees, and makes them a better advocate for nature in parliament.

On 9 December the APPG will meet to discuss the next stages for our Living Legends campaign in parliament. This is a crucial opportunity to ensure that our most important trees and woods are given the proper legal protection they deserve.

Thousands of you messaged your candidates in advance of the General Election to highlight the importance of woods and trees and push woodland conservation up the political agenda. Now is our chance to build on that momentum and encourage MPs to attend the APPG and take positive action for nature.
